Why did you have the need for a mini-digger?

I had 11 staff to consider with 9 years of labour behind them and more work coming in by the day.  It was clear to me that completing jobs more efficiently and using the time of our  staff more effectively  would be the next step in our growth.  I knew that I needed to look for a mechanical solution to our manual problem.

Why did you choose the Toro Traxmaster 413?

We chose the Toro track system over wheels as it gave us more manoeuvrability in muddy conditions and allowed us to lose fewer wet days (yes it does rain in Christchurch). We found that the Traxmaster 413 was powerful enough to do the most demanding landscape work yet small enough to manoeuvre into, around and through narrow spaces. I was so impressed by the first Traxmaster, I even bought another one.

How has the Toro Traxmaster improved your business?

Financially speaking it has been a great decision. By using our new Traxmaster rather than manual digging, 3 people now do the job of 4. At the rate we’re going we can expect to recoup our Traxmaster investment in a single season. The greatest payback we have noticed has come in less wear and tear on staff. Our staff are not as tired, particularly at the end of the week which as a result, allows jobs to get done to a higher standard.
