How can we help you?

Do you have a cutting system that’s built to last & cuts phenomenally?

Dual Point Adjustment (DPA) cutting units deliver outstanding results and last practically forever. If your Toro was purchased new after the end of 2004 –
chances are you have DPA cutting units already. And, if you don’t have DPA cutting units in your Toro, maybe it’s time to make the switch – they’re easy to
install and are a truly worthwhile investment.

Forever?
No, it’s not a fairytale. The Dual Point Adjustment (DPA) cutting units have a very long lifespan. The consistency of cut that the reel continually delivers is unrivalled. Plus, the die-cast aluminium frame is corrosion-resistant and its honeycomb design improves its strength by 30%. – all this without adding any additional weight to the cutting unit.

Sharper for longer
Additionally, DPA blades hold a sharper edge for longer which means the grass is consistently cleanly cut which is good for its health and for course after-cut appearance.

“By using a harder based metal and an advanced tempering process, the blades hold an edge much longer” says Tony Ferguson, marketing manager for Toro’s Reelmaster Mowers. “The result is reduced adjustments and less frequent backlapping and grinding. That helps to ensure a consistently higher quality of cut because the sharper edge shears the grass blade off cleanly, so grasses stay clean and healthy. We even scalloped the reel blades for a built-in relief, which also helps keep the blade sharp.”

A breeze to adjust
Reel-to-bedknife adjustment is far faster and easier. And, you are able to do a better job of adjusting one side instead of having to adjust the entire bedknife. This is due to Toro’s ingenious one-click dial that lets you to adjust and hold the bedknife in exact increments.

Unmatchable after-cut appearance

  • You can take the cut as low as 1/16 inch (1.6mm) for new cultivators
  • Cutting unit frame holds adjustment and maintains constant cutting edge position
  • The DPA cutting units handle a variety of terrains with ease delivering outstanding results

Here’s what some of Toro’s clients have to say about the DPA units.

John Philp, Links Superintendent, Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland*
"We have been using DPA units on our four 5410s - they are a major improvement on previous units and very straightforward, practical and robust, hence very popular with the greenstaff. The one-click adjustment at either end for setting the unit is simplistic and precise, while the height-of-cut arrangement gives us the full benefit of the adjustment. We also find the units stay on-cut for longer once properly set up, plus the construction is very solid and designed to minimise maintenance. Apart from the extra weight helping the unit to hug the ground, the new central down-pressure spring is far more efficient than the previous version with one either side. The quality of metal used for the cylinders seems to be improved as they are lasting longer and we find the ‘broomer' kits for the 5410s provide that extra cutting performance, especially in periods of good growth."

Peter Todd, Golf Courses Manager, The London Club in Kent*
"When we bought our four 5410 fairway mowers, the fact that they had the DPAs and the ease of setting them up was definitely an attraction for me. The quicker and more precise we can be in setting them, the better as far as I'm concerned. It literally takes a couple of clicks to adjust them. We're very fortunate in that we have two mechanics in our workshop who normally make all the mower adjustments, but the DPAs are so straightforward to use that our greenkeepers can - and sometimes do - set up the units themselves. There's less margin for error when they do this because they're so simple to use and they're pretty much hassle-free."

Stuart Hall, Workshop Manager, John O'Gaunt Golf Club in Bedfordshire*
"We have a Reelmaster 5610 with DPAs. The units are not only easy to set up, but they also have sealed bearings on the cylinders and rollers, which have been trouble-free. In fact, we haven't needed any new parts for the units since having them. The 5610's DPAs have done over 1,000 hours, but show little sign of wear and have only recently needed regrinding, which is pretty impressive. We're having our second 5610 with DPAs delivered in early 2009 and I'm hopeful Toro will introduce them across the range."
