Bruce RomeIrrigation Design Engineer Bruce works out of our Brisbane branch - Parkland Irrigation Australia. Irrigation has been in Bruce’s family ever since his great, great....great uncle Archimedes invented his famous “screw” in 3rd Century B.C. Greece to draw water from a river to irrigate raised fields. It took some time for Bruce to find his calling however, and, before he found Parkland nearly a decade ago there were a number of apparently unrelated appearances, including:
· 1976 Montreal Bronze medallist in the Olympic Hide-and-Seek
· Secretary of Agriculture in the Gorbachev Soviet Administration
· Shortlisted for the 1996 Booker Prize for the memoir of his life as an Ice-Road Trucker in Canada’s remote North-West Territories
· A four-year stint as bad-boy, Chett Rambler, in daytime TV’s “The Bold and the Beautiful”
· Original host of the Armenian version of “Who wants to be a Millionaire”
At home, Bruce enjoys sport and spending time with his lovely wife Esther.
