COME & SUPPORT THE PARKLAND YOUNG AMENITY HORTICULTURIST OF THE YEAR COMPETITION - 02 August 2010

Full day of challenging events for contestants. Entertaining. Informative. Fun.

• Come along yourself and watch
• Come to the dinner
• Drop in for an hour... drop in for the day!

Competitors will be judged on a range of skills in all fields of Horticulture during the day, the evening comprises of speeches and a quiz. The winner of the Amenity sector will be announced on the night and will represent the sector at the overall horticultural finals in Auckland in November. It would be great if you could support this event and our young horticulturalists by attending the awards dinner or popping in to watch some of the events during the day.

Day Programme

8.30am	Meet at Wintec - Hamilton Gardens (Information and individual programmes provided)
9.00 - 11.55	Session 1 - Practical Amenity Horticulture Activities 5 half hour sessions, each with a short breaks between
LUNCH
1.00- 3.55	Session 2 - Practical Amenity Horticulture Activities
BREAK
4.10 - 5.25	Practical Generic Activities 5 ten minute sessions with a short break between each
DINNER
6.30	Dinner - The Verandah Café & Function Centre – Hamilton Lake, Hamilton Lake Domain (off Ruakiwi Rd) 6.30 pm for 7pm start
7.00	Seated for anti-pasto platters & contestant speeches
7.30	Mains served
8.00	Horty and General knowledge quiz (everyone to participate so brush up your knowledge!)
8.30	Dessert
8.45	Section winners and overall winners announced
9.00	Tes/Coffee

Cost: Ticket $46 p/p Includes the 3 course meal, first drink inclusive
