With seven Contour™ Plus rotary cutting units, scalping is virtually non-existent and rough ground or stalks are handled with relative ease. Powered by a 44.7kW Kubota turbo-diesel engine, the training Steve and his team received was primarily around how to set the cutting deck heights, general maintenance, and where not to take it!
The Toro requires less maintenance as the blades are not as prone to damage, and overall productivity is greater as it is capable of mowing up to 3.6 hectares per hour.
Since taking possession of the Toro back in late August, the team have used it on Douglas Field (although not for the Rugby World Cup) and, according to Steve, “it has done a great job so far”.
