Maintaining the Hills at this years NZ Open was no small task for Hills curator Ian Douglas and his crew of 32, which was made up of The Hills staff members as well as volunteer green keepers from various golf courses around the country. But with the help of Toro, this immense task was made easier through precise cutting.
The Parkland team, made up of Steve Coppen and Darren Hannay, was on-site every day lending a helping hand when necessary. Steve, who swapped his salesman’s hat for overalls again, was kept busy back-lapping greensmowers and tweaking the odd machine, this sure brought back a few memories.
When it comes to turf management The Hills boasts a huge range of Toro equipment with cutting-edge technology. In order to ensure that all went smoothly during the NZ Open, Parkland loaned to The Hills a few additional TORO machines.
