Parkland Products have exciting growth plans for 2013 and have added the ASTEC range of horizontal direction drills, diggers, trenching equipment and accessories to their product portfolio. We require a knowledgeable sales person to manage and drive sales of the ASTEC range across New Zealand.
You will be the sole representative for the ASTEC range for Parkland Products, covering all of New Zealand. Your primary focus will be to drive ASTEC sales, which requires being out and about in constant dialogue with customers. If you are not already, you will become a product expert in the ASTEC range, able to deal with technical queries, assist with fault finding and preempt any diagnostic issues. Parkland Products have an established service department who will support you.
The majority of the customer base is known to Parkland Products. You could expect to deal with corporate customers, local councils, engineers and landscape contractors. It is a real relationship selling role. To be successful selling $100K+ drilling equipment you must have credibility and product knowledge. The sales cycle can take from a few weeks to several months, depending on the size and scale of your sales.
If you have sold drilling equipment, you will probably know the ASTEC range – and will be able to pick this job up quickly. If not, you must have a strong technical aptitude, with experience in engineering or heavy equipment. This job will suit a go getter, someone who thrives on building relationships with their customers; in a ditch on the side of the road or in the boardroom.
