Red Bull Tycoon chooses Toro in Fiji

Parkland has finished working on one of the world’s most exclusive resorts – Laucala Island in northern Fiji. Red Bull tycoon, Dietrich Mateschitz, spent 3 years turning the 3,000 acre private island into a retreat like no other. It features a top quality golf course and 25 luxury villas. The Laucala lagoon pool is the largest in the southern hemisphere. But if you prefer privacy, use your own pool. Every villa has one!

The 18 hole golf course was designed, and carved out of the jungle, by renowned golf course architects DMK Design. David Kidd also designed Bandon Dunes (in North Eastern Tasmania), a course that enjoys a growing international reputation as being among the best in the world.

We are proud to have been involved in the project - providing Toro mowing equipment, Workman utility vehicles, Toro irrigation and a fully integrated, wireless, Motorola IRRInet control system for potable water. Parkland’s work at Laucala included design and fit-out of 2 maintenance facilities (one for the golf course and the other for general island maintenance) and a high-tech overhead misting system for Laucala’s orchid house.

An international standard runway has been built to accommodate the many private jets expected to transport guests to this fabulous resort. So if you have US$3,800 (NZ$6,000) to spare for a 1 night stay, then visit www.laucala.com  or  simply have a look at where Bill Johns was living for much of the past year (tip – it wasn’t $3,800 a night) – click here.
