Leigh Harrison is the winner of the NZRA Parkland Young Amenity Horticulturist of the Year competition

Twenty-six year old Leigh Harrison returned from her OE in 2008 to join the grounds team at Waikato University as a ground keeper and gardener.

02 August 2010 - Parkland sponsors the Young Amenity Horticulturist of the Year Competition

Parkland Products are delighted to announce their sponsorship of the Young Amenity Horticulturist of the Year Competition. The 3-year agreement with New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) gives young amenity horticulturists the foundation to compete against each other with the winner of the event going on to compete in the National Horticultural finals.

“It’s an exciting time for Parkland Products; it gives us the perfect opportunity to get behind the industry that also supports us. Plus, we get to see emerging talent in the field – horticulturist stars in the making” said Leisha Murphy, Marketing Assistant for Parkland Products.

Parkland will be at the competition not just peddling their wears, but there as spectators and supporters and encourage everyone else to come along as well.

Horticulture is a key industry for Parkland who is the proud distributor of quality products for mowing, landscaping, renovating and irrigating.

02 August 2010 - Come & support the Parkland Young Amenity Horticulturist of the Year Competition

Full day of challenging events for contestants. Entertaining. Informative. Fun.

• Come along yourself and watch
• Come to the dinner
• Drop in for an hour... drop in for the day!

Competitors will be judged on a range of skills in all fields of Horticulture during the day, the evening comprises of speeches and a quiz. The winner of the Amenity sector will be announced on the night and will represent the sector at the overall horticultural finals in Auckland in November. It would be great if you could support this event and our young horticulturalists by attending the awards dinner or popping in to watch some of the events during the day.
