Difficult in steep terrain
My yard is a bear. For the last 12 years I have used a Husqvarna all wheel drive mower. It’s worn out. I bought a new Toro AWD this morning. So first off, the engine died when I mowed across the slope. As I was on hold for the Toro repairman, it dawned on me I probably needed to mow the other direction. He agreed. That worked. The tilt was so severe oil was getting into the carburetor. Able to mow in one direction only, I have to walk the mower back on the sidewalk and go back up the hill. Very steep. I have steep slopes in two directions. Downhill to the east and downhill to the south. There are times when I’m walking on the downhill to the south and the mower is going across the downhill to the south. It’s very difficult to keep the AWD in engaged in that circumstance. When I lose AWD, it precarious. Down the hill we go. Hopefully I’ll get better at it. Still, I’ll give it four stars because I was able to mow it. Like I said, my yard is a bear. It is very hard to mow. I think the AWD needs a hand control system like the Husqvarna.
