Power Tools

The 60V Flex-Force battery is designed for versatility and efficiency. A single battery can be interchanged across all compatible Toro garden tools, including mowers, blowers, trimmers, and more, offering convenience and reducing the need for multiple batteries

The choice between a brushless motor and a brushed (DC) motor can significantly affect the performance and longevity of your lawn tools.

• Brushless Motors: These motors are more efficient because they eliminate the friction caused by brushes in traditional motors. They offer several key benefits:
  • Longer lifespan: Without brushes to wear down, brushless motors last longer and require less maintenance.
  • Greater efficiency: Brushless motors run cooler, provide more torque, and extend the runtime of battery-powered tools by using energy more effectively.
  • Quieter operation: Since there’s less mechanical friction, brushless motors tend to operate more quietly than brushed motors.
• Brushed (DC) Motors: These motors use carbon brushes to transmit electricity to the motor’s rotor, which creates more friction and heat, leading to some trade-offs:
  • Lower cost: Brushed motors are generally less expensive, making them common in budget-friendly tools.
  • More maintenance: The brushes wear out over time, requiring periodic replacement and reducing the motor’s efficiency as they age

In summary, brushless motors are ideal for users seeking high performance, durability, and low maintenance, while brushed motors might appeal to those looking for lower-cost options for lighter, occasional use.

To get the most out of your battery, avoid running the tool at full speed continuously unless necessary. For instance, using a lower speed on your leaf blower or trimmer when handling lighter tasks can extend battery life significantly. Toro’s 60V tools feature variable speed controls, allowing you to conserve power by only using higher settings when needed. Additionally, always store batteries in a cool, dry place and avoid fully depleting them.

While the upfront cost of battery-powered tools can be higher, over time, the savings on fuel and reduced maintenance costs make them a viable option. For example, battery-powered tools eliminate gas refueling stops and reduce the need for regular engine maintenance. Toro’s 60V system offers a fast-charging battery setup, which further increases productivity by reducing downtime.

When choosing battery-powered tools, higher voltage equates to more power. For example, Toro’s 60V Flex-Force range provides robust power suitable for both residential and light commercial use. This line offers a practical balance for homeowners and landscapers alike, capable of handling demanding tasks like mowing thick grass or blowing large piles of leaves.

Typical voltage ranges start from 40V for smaller, lighter jobs, while 60V and higher voltages are preferred for heavy-duty tasks that require more force. Toro’s 60V Flex-Force Power System® supports a wide array of tools, such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, and hedge trimmers, all built to deliver the power needed for more challenging landscaping jobs.

For intensive, all-day use, Toro’s 60V Revolution handheld tools are supported by a backpack power source that enhances comfort and productivity, allowing you to work continuously by swapping out batteries. With Toro’s fast-charging system, the 10Ah battery can reach 100% charge in just 50 minutes, ensuring that you’re back up and running faster compared to many lower-voltage systems.

Whether you’re maintaining a residential yard or tackling a larger area, Toro’s 60V system provides the power, runtime, and convenience you need to get the job done efficiently.
